Privacy Policy

Little Grimoire ("the app") is made by Escapement LLC ("we," "us," "our"), a studio based in Oregon, USA. This policy explains, in plain language, what information the app does and doesn't handle. It covers both the iOS and Android versions — the app works the same way on each, and where a platform differs we say which is which.
The short version
Little Grimoire is built to run on your device, offline. You don't need an account to use it. We don't collect your name, email, or personal information, and your learning progress stays on your device. Anything money-related is handled by the App Store or Google Play when you make a purchase — we never see your payment details.
Information stored on your device
To work and to remember where you are, Little Grimoire stores the following locally on your device:
- Your lesson and chapter progress, streaks, and practice history
- Your settings and reminder preferences
- Cards you've drawn (for example, your Daily Card history)
- Your purchase / unlock status
This information lives on your device. It is not transmitted to us, and we cannot see it. Deleting the app, or clearing its data in your device settings, removes it.
Backups
On Android, if you have Android's backup feature turned on, Android may include your Little Grimoire progress in the encrypted device backup tied to your own Google account — so your progress can come back when you reinstall the app or move to a new phone. This is handled entirely by Android and governed by Google's own privacy policy; we never see it.
On iOS, there is no automatic backup and no iCloud integration — your progress simply stays on your device.
On either platform, you can export your progress to a file from the app's settings — that file goes wherever you choose to save it and stays under your control.
Purchases
Little Grimoire is free to download and includes one optional in-app purchase (the "Book of Tarot" unlock). Purchases are processed entirely by the store you downloaded the app from — Apple's App Store on iOS, or Google Play Billing on Android. Apple or Google — not us — handles the transaction. We receive confirmation of whether a purchase or restore succeeded so we can unlock your content, but we do not receive or store your card number, billing address, or other payment details. Their handling of your payment is governed by Apple's or Google's own privacy policy.
Notifications
If you turn on reminders, the app schedules them locally on your device. No information is sent to us or to any server to deliver them. You can turn reminders off at any time in the app's settings or in your device settings.
Analytics and crash reporting
In the app: Little Grimoire does not use third-party analytics or crash-reporting services. We do not track your activity across other apps or websites, and we do not build advertising profiles.
On this website: littlegrimoire.com uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages people find useful. That is standard website measurement and is entirely separate from the app, which sends us nothing. If you would rather not be counted, any tracker-blocking extension or your browser's Do Not Track setting will stop it.
Information we do not collect
To be explicit, Little Grimoire does not:
- Require or create an account
- Collect your name, email address, phone number, or contacts
- Access your location, camera, microphone, or photos
- Show ads or share data with advertisers
- Sell your personal information
Children's privacy
Little Grimoire is intended for a general audience of teens and adults and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because the app does not collect personal information from anyone, this is largely moot — but if you believe a child has provided us with information, contact us and we will address it.
Your choices and rights
Because your data stays on your device, you control it directly: clear it by deleting the app, or by clearing the app's data in your device settings — and on Android, by removing any device backup via your Google account settings. Depending on where you live — for example, the EU/UK under the GDPR, or California under the CCPA/CPRA — you may have rights to access or delete personal information a company holds about you. Since we do not hold personal information about you on our servers, there is little for us to act on, but you can always reach us with a request or question at the address below.
Changes to this policy
If we change how the app handles information, we will update this policy and revise the "Last updated" date above. Meaningful changes will be reflected in the app or on our website.
